Prom Promise is an initiative that began several years ago as an effort to try and educate students on the dangers of drinking and driving, not only during their prom season but throughout the year. The events are held at all three local high schools in Newberry County.  This initiative is a collaboration with:

 Newberry County EMS

 Newberry City Police and Fire Departments

 Newberry Coroner’s Office

Youth from the high school put together a skit and participate as victims of the mock crash, hoping to spread the message that there can be serious and sometimes fatal consequences from drinking and driving.
